What happens when art, nature and transience come together?
The MortAmour photography exhibition presents a series of poignant images that leave no one unmoved.

In this special summer 2026 exhibition, photographers Bart Moeyaert and Patrick Vanryckeghem bring lifeless animals and living models together in compositions that are both powerful and intimate. Each image exudes tranquillity, emotion and respect for nature.

Where life ends, the story begins

The photographs in MortAmour depict animals that died a natural death. Often, attempts were even made to save them. Instead of disappearing from the landscape, they are given new meaning in this photographic exhibition.

They are portrayed with great care and respect, as part of a larger story: that of life itself. The images not only highlight the beauty of nature, but also remind us of its fragility and transience.

Inspired by the nature of the Zwin

For their solo exhibition at the Zwin Nature Park, the photographers drew inspiration from the area’s unique nature, fauna and flora.

The exhibition consists of a selection of around 25 powerful photographs. Each image tells its own story, but together they form a poetic whole: a visual homage to the delicate balance of our natural world.
